Jamaican Animation Co to produce cartoon to air on Disney
A local animation company, has secured what is believed to be, a pioneer agreement with an animation production company, based in Lille, France, to produce a cartoon that airs on Disney Junior in France.
Reel Rock GSW Animation, has signed a contract, believed to be the first of its kind for an animation studio based in the Caribbean, to provide production work for a series airing on a major international television network.
Reel Rock GSW will be working with Studio Red Frog, to produce thirteen episodes of “Quiz Time”, a cartoon targeting children in the 2-6 age group.
In underscoring the achievement of the company, which celebrates its first anniversary in February, its Executive Director, Wayne Sinclair, lauded the creative capabilities of the team of animators.
“We have 12 animators on board, they are all Jamaicans …they are really really good artists and illustrators and we have a number of things being lined up in the pipeline” he disclosed.
He gave credit to JAMPRO for its role in facilitating the first steps in his company’s journey in the local animation industry.
